Purpose:
Pathway Communications Ltd has immediate openings for copper and fiber cable technicians to work at our clients sites throughout the Southern California, and Dallas TX area.

Qualified candidates will be able to pull, drop and terminate Cat 5 and Cat 6 cables. They should also be able to: dress, test and label cables in MDF and IDF closets as well as punch down cables to patch panels. Candidates should also be able to pull and terminate fiber optic cable. An understanding of video, RCA, and RF a plus.

All candidates should have at least 2-5 years experience with copper and fiber cable installation.

Candidate MUST be able to provide their own tools and transportation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Receives training and learns how to install video and surveillance
equipment. Within a 90 day period, attends and successfully passes
core training in a field setting. Classes cover core
knowledge required for technical and physical security equipment
installation, maintenance and repair.

Specific duties include the following:

1. Measure, cut, splice, connect, and install wire and cable.

2. Troubleshoot, test, repair, replace, or adjust components using
hand tools and test equipment.

3. Read and understand schematics, wire diagrams, and technical
drawings.

4. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, which includes
adjustment and repairs.technician

5. Assemble, disassemble, and install communication equipment
(such as video and data power and communication lines and hardware), computer systems, security systems, and surveillance systems

6. Apply basic electric theory (voltage, amperes, and ohms).

7. Mount TV’s, Projectors, and speaker systems in mostly a classroom environment. technician,

QUALIFICATIONS

- Completion of a technical school program or previous experience
as an electrician's helper or equivalent job with rudimentary
experience and knowledge of basic electric theory, or,

- Minimum of three months basic construction experience.

- Fundamental understanding of basic hand and power tool use.

- Valid driver's license; able to meet NTMI's Safe Driving

- Able to work at moderately high heights, up to 40 feet above
the ground using bucket trucks, scissor lifts, and ladders.
